note6 : Coretan Kuliah 1

it’s just review of my study about introductory nuclear physics.

Nuclear physics at glance.

1896 : the birth of nuclear physics. Becquerel found radioactivity in Uranium through fluorecence and phosphorecence in an object.

Rutherford found three types of radiation. They were alpha (He), beta (electron), and gamma (high energy photon).

1911 : Rutherford along with Geiger and Marsden did the scatering experiment. From this experiment, they found : information about the charge of nulei and found a new force then identify it as a new force named nuclear force.

1919 : Rutherford and coworkers observed the nuclear reaction for the first time.

1932 : Cockroft and Walton used the proton accelerator for the first time to produce the nuclear reaction.

1932 : James Chadwick found neutron.

1933 : Curie found the artificial radioactive.

1938 : Hahn and Strassman foud fission nuclear.

1942 : Fermi made the first controlled fission nuclear reactor.
